Frolic Girls Photoshoot

I got the chance to go down to the Frolic girls shop ( CHECK IT OUT) down in Wollongong with my friend Suzanne and model Cassie. It was my first time going to Wollongong and I must say it was a really great getaway from the busy streets of Sydney. Anyway back to the main point of this post. Suzanne and I got to pick out any garments and accessories Suzanne and I wanted to shoot and my oh my was that shop full of amazing brands like Alice McCall, Shakuhachi, Stylestalker, We Are Handsome, Maniamania, Bec & Bridge and the list continues !! I couldn't believe what amazing brands were being sold in this one shop ! I cannot wait to collaborate again and shoot more !

Suzanne and I took what seemed like a million photo's and was absolutely inspired ! I am yet to edit these photos (which could take awhile) but above are just two of the million photo's i took...and these are unedited !
Next post will be more of the shots I took :)

Staple the label

I got the chance to help assist at the Staple the Label  (which also included some mink pink pieces to style) winter look book shoot today at Sun Studios with designer Victoria Bolton and Karla Rose and photographer James Atkins. Absolutely loved every piece especially after seeing it styled on Bridget (the model). Expect drapery and loose fit (which is amazing because you can master laying with these pieces), chiffon, sweater dress, cut outs and colourful prints. What i love most about this collection is that its androgyny and chic and I love that you can put layers and layers of any of the pieces yet it still compliments your figure.

chaos !

The other day I got the chance to work at the Mink Pink + MarketHQ Warehouse sale in Paddington. It was so chaotic with all the girls rummaging (myself included) through the bargains of Mink Pink, Staple, Evil Twin and so much more ! It had a mix of summer and winter clothing which was good. I was like a kid in a candy store, so happy with the clothes I got and I'll cherish them a lot more knowing I got them so cheap ! The images shown are just some of the items I got and put together.
I think more often I will be posting more of my personal style, i find it nerve racking knowing there's images of me on this, I truly prefer being the one behind the lens but this had to come at some point.

Top Pick for off duty models

These are my top 14 picks for the 'Models Off Duty Harpers Baazar'
I picked this bunch because its got everything I would wear. Fur coats, oversized scarves, coats and jackets etc. I love fur coats (i prefer faux fur which I'm sure what the models are wearing are not faux), you can wear the most casual thing and as soon as you put on a fur coat, you're instantly fa-bu-lous ! Im still wondering about looking for the perfect faux fur coat. With the rest of the images I chose it because I love the casual-feel-but-still-looking-great-look. The oversized military jacket are just so warm and comfy. Anything loose and oversized - i'm totally sold !

2011 CFDA

So CFDA was held in New York about two days ago. For those who don't know what CFDA (The Council of Fashion Designers of America) it is a non-for-profit trade show which recognizes the top creative talent.

First of I wanted to start by mentioning Lady Gaga's towering heels ! They were amazing and I can't imagine how hard it must have been to walk in them lovelies, so props to her for doing that. She actually won the CFDA Fashion Icon award (who did not see that one coming?). Not to mention I loved that corset gown by Thierry Mugler. AAAAMAZING !

Below are a few more of my favourites from the CFDA
Erin Fetherston and Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen

Chloe Sevigny and Alexander Wang with Aymeline Valade

Wool and the Gang

Wool and the Gang are the creators of beautifully comfy and simple knitwear. The wools used to make these lovelies are all the way from The Andean Highlands, and each piece is carefully hand knitted by women local to Titicaca so each piece is a unique one. These pieces will definitely keep you warm during these cold winter days. They have a bunch of different designs from vests, sweaters, tank tops, cardigans and bra (to list a few), who knew you could do so much with knitting !!
When I seen the S/S 11 collection I couldn't believe you could actually knit something so pretty, this takes skills and a lot of time. Since i seen this it makes me want to start knitting, but I know i could never create something so sweet like they do in Wool and the Gang.

Love for Mademoiselle Yulia

I’m in LOVE with the singer, dj, designer and Fashion Column writer for Nylon Japan – Mademoiselle Yulia. She’s like a Japanese Manga character with her ever changing hair colour of blue or purple. Have you ever just walked down the streets of your city and you see someone who is wearing something simple but has added a pair of studded leather vest onto a plain shirt? Or a simple dress with funky accessories and glitter shoes ? (well..obviously not wearing them exact clothing but you know what I mean...just someone who looks awesome that you cant stop staring at.) and think wow this persons style is awesome then you wonder about in your head what YOU have in your wardrobe that you can mix and match with to make it seem that awesome and that noticeable that you get awkwardly starred at....well this is Yulia, she just has that style you know you can wear but you don't have. She's a style icon on the streets and electro scene of Tokyo, she was bound to be noticed. I love how fun her style is, the way she puts it together seems so effortless yet some of her outfits are very costume-like. She makes something so simple mix it with something crazy and colourful and voila` it’s so much more fun ! I would pretty much wear everything she owns (even that kinky leather outfit) - She can dress like lady gaga but more of Yulia's outfits you can definitely wear out without looking like a fashionable freak. I love her style because she can look so effortless, she can be dressed down and she can be so dressed up and she looks great all the time !

  (accessories by Giza)

She also has her own accessory line Giza which is inspired by Egyptian pyramids, design and colours.
